Philoptochos Society
The simplest explanation of the Philoptochos is its translation “Friends of the Poor.” It is the philanthropic arm of our church. We invite and encourage all the women of our Parish Family, eighteen years of age or over, to join us in service to our Lord, church and community. Men are also encouraged and welcomed as Associate Members. Our dedicated group can be characterized by hard work, strong community spirit and dedication to our church and those in need.
We try to meet monthly, and have fundraising activities year round which support National Charities as designated by the National Philoptochos as well as many local charities. Some of our fundraising efforts include Gyros Saturdays, a Christmas Pastry sale and baking of Greek Pastries for The Taste of Greece Festival. Current Officers: Lacey Wendland, president Patra Sevastiades, vice-president Raluca Stan, secretary Allison Serakos, treasurer Join us on Facebook to find out more about our ministry!
